There’s a saying that old friends are the best friends. And in many cases that’s true. But sometimes we hang on to friendships long after we’ve outgrown them. One or both parties may sense a “parting of the ways” as interests and values diverge. It’s tempting to try and hang on because of the years you’ve invested. But rather than force an obsolete friendship to continue, trust that God brought this person into your life for a reason – and a season. Now it’s time to release your old friend so both of you can move on and continue to grow.
