- Senior Production Editor

Job Summary:

The Senior Production Editor delivers radio production elements and spots marked by indisputable excellence in relation to the broadcast quality standards, mission and vision, and branding for the different ministries of Family Life Communications.

No relocation assistance provide for this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively participates in campaign planning meetings by leading or contributing with creative, effective ideas that support the goals of various, diverse campaigns and the strategic initiatives of Family Life Radio; creates comprehensive production proposals that meet the needs of new promotional initiatives
  • Creates scripts and digital audio productions using standard DAW software, employing effective technical solutions within the DAW context
  • Creates radio productions that complement other traditional and new media tools utilized in FLC campaigns
  • Assures all completed production delivers indisputable excellence within budget
  • Manages all assigned projects and production schedules independently using standard project management software, delivering all projects on-time every time, and
  • Organizes hard-drive digital assets according to a finely detailed structure that enables efficient asset management and archiving

Non-Essential Functions:

  • May engineer/operate audio control board for live Sharathon broadcasts, following established format
  • May assist with video production/editing needs on a case-by-case, as-needed basis
  • May answer phones and take faith promises during Sharathons

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven creative and innovative "out-of-the-box" thinker; demonstrates knowledge of effective, contemporary radio production methods and tools used industry-wide
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general marketing principles; complements larger marketing initiatives employed in campaigns
  • Knowledge and proven ability to edit audio utilizing multi-track editing software on a PC platform; strong skills in using SONY Vegas and Sound Forge, Adobe Audition, or equivalent applications. Able to cross-train on similar DAW applications
  • Proven ability to write listener-focused production scripts that delivers results
  • Proven ability to direct voice talent performance that meet the high quality goals of the production
  • Proven project management skills: ability to plan and perform complex work in a fast paced work environment where only general policies or procedures are available
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to write, edit and proof business documents
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Very high level of commitment to delivering compelling radio to the target listener
  • Self-motivated starter who sets and achieves personal objectives
  • Proven "stickler" for details that positively impact high quality production

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and, or combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years professional, creative script-writing and radio producing experience using multi-track DAW applications and PCs

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 7 years experience overseeing and performing high quality radio production that delivers intended results
  • Video production/editing experience
  • Experience working with Six Sigma Quality Assurance and/or Situational Leadership Methodologies
  • Experience working with non-profits and/or in the broadcast media industry
