Celebrating Faith Where It Was Once Forbidden
Imagine standing in a place where the mention of faith was once forbidden, now transformed into a sanctuary of worship and celebration.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
– Psalm 24:1 NIV
Today’s verse reassures us that every inch of creation belongs to the Lord, including the places where His name was once denied. Josh Havens shared about performing in a communist assembly hall in Albania, a powerful reminder of God’s ability to reclaim and sanctify any space as His own.
No place is too far gone, too secular, or too hardened against the gospel that it cannot be transformed by the power of God’s spirit.
In every place where history said “no,” God’s grace says “yes.”
Reflect on your own community or the spaces you frequent. Are there areas or places that seem resistant to faith? Perhaps certain social groups, institutions, or even parts of your own heart feel closed off to the message of Jesus.
God specializes in entering these hard places and turning them into grounds of spiritual harvest. Remember, no space is beyond the reach of God’s renewing love.
Today’s One Thing
As you move through your day, challenge yourself to view your surroundings as potential places for God’s transformative work. Each step you take in faith is an opportunity to participate in the ongoing story of God reclaiming and sanctifying every corner of our world for His glory.
