God’s Good Purpose
Life’s surprises can shape you in unexpected ways. Gratitude has the power to turn your eyes toward God’s steady hand at work in every detail of your life.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
– Romans 8:28 NLT
During difficult times you may have to look closely to see His steady hand. The sun still rises. Breath still fills your lungs. You still have meaningful relationships. Each one reminds you that your heavenly Father is present, aligning every step with His purpose.
Even when circumstances don’t go your way, God’s love never wavers. He uses every season to grow your faith, strengthen your spirit, and draw you closer to Jesus. Gratitude helps you notice this process. When you give thanks, even for the smallest blessings, you recognize that God is present and transforming difficulties into opportunities.
Gratitude turns your attention from what’s missing to where God is working.
Gratitude is faith in action. You choose to thank God before the answer arrives, before the healing is complete, and before the situation shifts. Your thankfulness becomes a declaration of trust: “Lord, I believe You are at work, and I rest in Your purpose.” Your thankful mindset changes how you experience trials. Peace begins to replace worry. Joy starts to grow, even when you are waiting.
When you experience difficulties, look for glimpses of God’s good purpose. Notice the unexpected blessings. Pay attention to how He provides strength when you feel weak. Let gratitude rise in your heart as you remember that His plans always carry goodness. Let your words express thankfulness to the Alpha and Omega.
Today’s One Thing
Worship the Lord with thankfulness, and say, “I trust God’s good purpose and give thanks, knowing He is at work in every detail of my life.”
