Waiting with Expectation
You experience a special kind of energy in waiting when your heart leans forward with hope. You’re alert with anticipation, believing that something good is on its way. And even on the days when your patience feels thin, every moment becomes an act of trust that shapes your faith in ways nothing else can.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
– Isaiah 40:31 NLT
Waiting can feel like a silence between you and God, as He fulfills your request or His promise, but that silent pause is never wasted. It’s a sacred space where your faith stretches and grows. Isaiah described those who trust and wait on the Lord as people who are strengthened, lifted, and renewed. That’s because waiting isn’t just standing still; it’s tuning your heart to God’s faithfulness, even when you’re not sure how the story will unfold.
God strengthens you while you wait on Him with expectation.
When you wait with expectation, you are investing time in your relationship with God. Every prayer, every moment of surrender, every choice to trust becomes part of that investment. God uses your season to build your faith and deepen your trust. Waiting teaches you to listen more closely to His voice, to trust His plan over your own, and to keep moving forward even when you can’t see what’s next. It shifts your focus from you to Him.
Let this kind of waiting change how you live. Instead of growing weary, begin to rise above discouragement. God uses these seasons to prepare you so you’re ready to soar when His plan unfolds. Lean forward and let your expectations shape your prayers, guide your choices, and fill your days with hope. God’s timing is perfect and purposeful.
Today’s One Thing
Take a deep breath and speak this over your heart: “I will wait with expectation, trusting that God is working even when I cannot see it. My hope is in Him as He prepares me for what’s ahead.” When impatience tries to creep in, return to these words as a reminder that God’s timeline is never late and always good.
