“Does It Have God Music?”
Children have a way of cutting through the noise. They say what we’re often too distracted—or too hesitant—to admit ourselves. That’s why Julie’s story from Arizona is so striking.
Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants, You have ordained strength…
— Psalm 8:2 NKJV
Julie told us her youngest three children are adopted. Through all the changes and challenges their family has faced, one constant has brought comfort and connection—the sound of truth playing through the speakers.
Julie shared about a time when they were between vehicles after a car accident. Rental after rental, her young son had one question: “Does it have the God music?” And when they finally got a new car, again he asked, “Does it have the God music?”
Even children recognize the sound of truth when it reaches their hearts.
The worship, the testimonies, and the Word—all of it cuts through the confusion. It anchors us. In a culture that bombards our minds with half-truths and false promises, the truth of God sings over us. It brings peace to our hearts and opens our eyes to things from His perspective.
January is the start of a new year. A chance to pause and ask: What am I really listening to?
What voices are shaping the way I think, feel, and believe?
Julie’s son knew what he needed—not just music, but God music. The kind of music that stirs something real. The sound that wakes you up from the drift and draws you toward the truth.
Jesus draws us gently with love, clarity, and hope. This year, as you seek direction and strength, let your heart echo the same simple question: Does it have the God music?
Today’s One Thing
Turn on a worship song or faith-filled message today—something anchored in truth. As you listen, ask the Holy Spirit to awaken your heart to anything you’ve been numb to. Let His voice bring clarity and comfort.
