Southern Adventist University Presents School of Music’s Wind Symphony in Concert – Collegedale

The School of Music at Southern Adventist University presents the Wind Symphony in concert under the direction of music professor Ken Parsons on Sunday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists on campus.
The dynamic program celebrating tradition and innovation will include Dmitri Kabalevsky’s “Overture” from the opera Colas Breugnon, Ron Nelson’s “Passacaglia (Homage on B-A-C-H),” and Eric Whitacre’s cosmic “Deep Field” featuring the university’s Voices of Southern. Other repertoire encompasses “Four Scottish Dances” by Malcolm Arnold, “Only Light” by Aaron Perrine, and “Polka and Fugue” by Jaromir Weinberger from the opera Schwanda, the Bagpiper.
