The Father Who Stands with Me

When it feels like life is falling apart, our Heavenly Father remains present, providing strength, joy, and comfort in the darkest places.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
— Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)

Tammy never imagined her life would look like this. After 30 years of marriage, her husband left—telling her he was transgender. Just like that, she became a single mom to three children, including two with special needs.

He had been the only source of family income. But Tammy recognized her heavenly Father never left her alone. “Through my church and the kindness of friends, God surrounded me with people who helped in practical ways.”

Still, they couldn’t be there at night—when the fear and sadness crept in. “That’s when I turned on Family Life Radio. It brought joy and hope into such a dark situation. God used it to help me get through. Now, it’s part of our life. I play it in the car, and I hear my kids singing along. Even in the loss, even in the heartbreak—there’s life again.”

God doesn’t walk away when others do—He stays, He heals, and He sings over your broken places with joy.

When we experience challenges with earthly relationships, God the Father remains steadfast. He sees the pain others don’t. He understands the depth of your grief. And He stays. He stands with you, ready to fill the quiet places with comfort and bring joy where sorrow once lived.

Psalm 34:18 speaks directly to stories like hers: “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart.” He sees the pain others don’t. He understands the depth of your grief. And He stays. When fear rises, He speaks peace. And in the middle of unthinkable change, He stirs our hearts with hope again.

Maybe you’ve experienced a kind of loss that feels too big to carry. Let the Father carry you. Let Him speak truth, bring joy, and stir your heart again with the reminder: You are not alone.
