Made Entirely New
First thing in the morning or after a hard day’s work, it feels refreshing to wash with clean water. Similarly, giving your life to Jesus, He washes away your sins and brings newness. Your faith in Christ is a brand-new way of living that reflects His resurrection power at work in you.
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
– Romans 6:4 ESV
When Jesus stepped into the Jordan River, He didn’t need cleansing, yet He chose obedience. He identified with humanity, so you could one day identify with Him. When you trust Christ, you join Him in that story. Your old life is buried with Him, and you rise into a life made entirely new. Paul explains that your old self was crucified with Christ so sin would lose its grip. You are no longer defined by who you were; you now live from who He is.
Your new life enables you to forgive when pride wants revenge. The Holy Spirit guides you in telling the truth when exaggeration feels easier. You walk away from habits that once controlled you because Christ has changed your focus. These choices reveal that His grace is alive in you.
Jesus’ resurrection life now works in you through the Holy Spirit. The Father declares you His. The Son shares His victory with you. The Spirit empowers you to live from that fresh identity.
New life in Christ shapes how you walk each day.
Walking in the newness of life means waking up each morning aware that your past no longer has authority over your future. You set your mind on what honors Christ. Faith becomes visible through humility, generosity, self-control, and love. Hope grows as you remember that His resurrection frees you from past failures and anchors your future in Him.
The moment you received His forgiveness marked a turning point in your story. You belong to the risen Christ. You carry His resurrection life into your home, your workplace, and your community. Walk confidently knowing that you are alive in Him.
Today’s One Thing
With His resurrection power, practice forgiveness, speak truth, or serve someone quietly. Declare, “I walk each day knowing He has given me a new life.”
