The Road that Changes You

One encounter with Jesus can redirect the entire course of your life. When He steps into your path, your priorities shift, your heart awakens, and the road ahead begins to reflect God’s purpose rather than your own plans.

But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.
– Acts 9:6 ESV

Do most of your days start off with plans in place and things to get done? You’ve planned well, your schedule feels clear, and your direction appears certain. Then God interrupts the path you prearranged. His voice reaches your heart in a way you cannot ignore.

Saul experienced that kind of moment on the road to Damascus. Self-assurance filled his steps as he traveled with certainty, convinced of his mission. A brilliant light suddenly surrounded him, stopping him in his tracks. In that instant, Jesus revealed Himself and completely changed the direction of Saul’s life.

The same Jesus who confronted Saul continues to reveal truth, gently correcting the paths you once defended, opening your eyes to see something greater. The Holy Spirit works within you, guiding your heart toward humility, faith, and obedience.

Encountering Jesus often changes your priorities before it changes your circumstances. Your ambition begins to align with God’s purposes. Your desire for recognition fades as your desire to honor Christ grows deeper. Your focus shifts from controlling outcomes to trusting the One who leads you.

When Jesus redirects your path, you find yourself on the road you were always meant to travel.

You may recognize places where Jesus has already interrupted your plans. Those moments often feel surprising at first, yet they carry the invitation of grace and newness. Christ does not stop you simply to correct you, but to call you into something better.

The road that changes you begins the moment Jesus becomes the center of your life. His presence fills the journey ahead with purpose. When you walk with Him, every step becomes part of God’s unfolding work in and through you.

Today’s One Thing
Ask Jesus to reveal where He is redirecting your path and what He wants to prioritize in your days ahead. Then tell Him, “Jesus, I love and trust you to guide my priorities and purpose. Lead me where you want me to go.”
