Find Him in the Stillness
Quiet moments with God restore your physical and spiritual strength, steady your heart, and draw you closer to His voice.
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
– Psalm 46:10 ESV
A quiet pause can feel like a hidden gift in the middle of a full day. You move from one responsibility to the next, carrying conversations, your to-do list, and expectations. In the middle of it all, God gently invites you to slow down and choose Him first.
In 1 Kings 19, we find Elijah worn out and overwhelmed. God met Elijah in a fragile place through a gentle whisper. That moment reveals something personal about the Father’s heart—He often speaks in ways that require you to be still, not rush past, but to listen.
You live in a world that rewards activity, yet your soul thrives when you choose to be present with God. He asks you to settle your thoughts and recognize His presence. Stillness creates space for you to prioritize the clutter and chaos below the presence of the Lord. The Holy Spirit uses those quiet moments to realign your thinking and to renew your physical and spiritual strength.
God’s whisper reaches you most clearly in stillness.
In Luke 10:38-42, Mary’s choice to sit at Jesus’ feet paints a beautiful picture of this kind of renewal. She stepped away from distractions and gave Him her full attention. When Jesus observed this act, He affirmed that decision because it reflected a heart ready to receive.
Stillness creates room for something greater. It becomes a posture of trust, where you allow God to speak, guide, and restore.
Today’s One Thing
Pause and give God your full attention today. Remind yourself, “God renews my strength and speaks clearly as I draw near to Him.”
