Peace for the Next Decision

God cares about the choices sitting in your mind right now. When you feel pressure to respond, fix, or decide something, He meets you with peace and direction.

“You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you… Do not fear or be dismayed.”
— 2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJV

God gives you wisdom and peace for the decisions pressing in right now.

Jehoshaphat had a real decision to make with dire consequences. An enemy coalition was coming, and he had a responsibility to protect his people. He brought the problem to God, trusting Him with what felt impossible. And God answered with a strategy that still works in everyday life: position yourselves, stand still, and watch Me work.

Don’t let fear make decisions; but ask God to lead the timing and direction.

It’s for the moments you know well:
The text you want to send when emotions are high.
That “yes” you feel pressured to give.
A mistake you keep replaying.
The conversation with your teen you’ve been avoiding.
Or the financial choice that makes your chest tighten.

God says, “Position yourselves.” That means you do wise, practical things. Gather the facts; get counsel; name what you need and pray honestly. Then God says, “Stand still.” That means you stop deciding from adrenaline. You pause long enough to let peace re-enter your body and truth re-enter your thoughts.

Then God says, “See the salvation of the Lord.” That means you look for what God is doing and take the next right step with Him.

Fear will always offer a shortcut: react now, commit now, fix now. God offers assurance of peace in His presence and wisdom in His Word.

Today, you can “position yourself” and choose from peace. God is with you, and He knows how to lead you one faithful step at a time.

ONE THING (Action Step)
Use this 30–30–30 Decision Pause before your next choice:
30 seconds: breathe slowly and relax your shoulders.
