Here is the Road
Robert from Arizona admits his faith took a back seat for years. Then He realized God had been calling him back the whole time. The road home was closer than he thought.
If you wander off the road to the right or the left, you will hear his voice behind you saying, “Here is the road. Follow it.”
— Isaiah 30:21 GNT
Robert found himself in the slow drift that happens when life fills up, and your faith slips to the edges. Our verse today declares to us that God doesn’t wait at the finish line for the person who has wandered. He speaks from right behind them, consistently present. The Holy Spirit’s voice gives clear direction. “Here is the road.” He offers a clear, steady invitation to walk your life out His way.
God knows exactly where you are; He’s marked the way forward.
When Robert returned to the path, He found God was already at work. “The Lord has been transforming me for the better,” he says. That transformation didn’t wait for Robert to have everything figured out. God started it the moment Robert turned toward Him.
He also recognizes how that voice reached him. “I believe he guided me here [to Family Life Radio] to listen to the gospel in songs and testimonies.” The Holy Spirit used music, real stories, and a faithful station to make His direction tangible and daily. Robert came back and discovered God had been preparing the way long before he returned.
If you find your relationship with God pushed to the edges today, notice His voice is already behind you. It has been there the whole time. Turn around and follow it.
Today’s One Thing
Take one step toward God today. Open your Bible; put on worship music, or simply say: “Lord, I’m returning.” He meets you right where you are.
