Joy That Overflows Into Your Witness

Some news is too good to keep to yourself! When Jesus changes your life, joy fuels your excitement. Your story of His grace becomes more than a memory; it invites others to discover Jesus for themselves.

Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!”
– John 4:39 NLT

The Samaritan woman, following her usual routine, arrived at the well with a task to accomplish: to fill a water jar. Unexpectedly, she walked away having encountered Jesus. He already knew her complicated story. He spoke truth into her deepest need and offered her the living water her soul needed.

Her encounter with Jesus changed the direction of her life. The excitement and truth she experienced compelled her to tell others about the man she had just met. The people knew her history; they knew her life had changed, yet she did not wait until she had all the answers or a polished testimony. She simply shared what Jesus had done and invited others to discover Him.

Joy erupts into a powerful witness when you share what Jesus has done in your life.

Your story carries the same potential. You may remember a season when the Father carried you through uncertainty and when Jesus gave you forgiveness. Your experiences are opportunities to point someone toward Christ.

Your testimony can do the same. You may not have every answer or a perfectly worded explanation, yet no one can take away what Jesus has done in your life. Your witness can begin with, “Here’s what Jesus has done for me.”

The Holy Spirit cultivates joy within you and helps that joy overflow through your words, choices, and generosity. As others see your life, they may begin wondering about the hope behind your joy.

Your living testimony has the same potential. The joy you experience in Christ today points toward an even greater joy ahead, when you will celebrate forever in His presence.

Today’s One Thing
Thank God for the joy-filled experiences he has given you, and affirm, “I will joyfully share what Jesus has done for me and trust the Holy Spirit to use my story to point others toward Him.”
