A Door Only God Could Open
It started as an ordinary morning—a grandmother, a granddaughter, and Family Life Radio playing. One question from an eleven-year-old opened a conversation that only God could have started.
Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains.
— Colossians 4:3 NKJV
Lolita from Michigan called to share how a conversation started on Family Life Radio led her eleven-year-old granddaughter to ask if she was she a Christian?
“It opened up the door to a deep conversation.”
Paul’s prayer in Colossians 4:3 is specific: that God would give a chance to spread His message. The Holy Spirit stirred that little girl’s heart that morning, and He gave Lolita exactly what Paul prayed for.
God provides the moment to share His message. Trust Him to give you the words.
“She’s had a lot of hardships,” Lolita said, “but this station has helped so much.” God used her curiosity to start the most important conversation of that little girl’s life.
Paul wrote those words from a jail cell, praying for chances to share the gospel in the most unlikely circumstances. God answered then. He answers today — in living rooms, in cars, in the quiet before the day gets busy.
You may be praying today for someone you love, hoping for the right moment to have that conversation. Colossians 4:3 is your prayer. Ask God for the chance. He opens the moment. You bring the willingness. He handles the rest.
Today’s One Thing
Pray today for one person in your life who needs to hear about God’s love. Ask Him specifically for a chance to have that conversation. Then stay alert for the moment He provides it.
