A Reason to Celebrate

You have the privilege of a mediator.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16 ESV

When Job was struggling with all the loss in his life, he wanted a mediator between him and God. He cried out in Job 9:33 (NIV), “If only there was someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together.”

In Christ, you have the privilege Job did not have. You have a mediator. God sent His Son to earth to provide the way for the forgiveness of sins once for all. No more sacrifice and bloodshed of animals. Jesus came as a helpless little baby to a couple of ordinary parents chosen by God. His birth was no ordinary event. God planned it and His prophets talked about it long before He came.

One of the main reasons for Christ’s birth was so He could die to become the firstborn of those resurrected to new life and so you could have a relationship with God.

Jesus came as a baby so you can have a relationship with almighty God.

Jesus walked the earth as a human Who was still God. He knows the human challenges you face. He cried. He got hungry. He experienced separation from God, His Father, on the cross. He did this out of love and obedience to the Father for YOU.

What a reason to celebrate! God, who is almighty and holy, desires a relationship with you. He provided a way through His Son, Jesus.

Today’s One Thing

Thank God for sending His Son, Jesus, for you. Ponder all He gave up and all He suffered on earth because He loves you. Ask God to show you who you can share this Good News with.
