Always on His Mind
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
─ Philippians 4:6-7
Some of us spend our lives trying to find our purpose. Adults frequently ask children, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” As we grow up, we can sometimes get lost in the search for who or what we’ll become. Many things can cause us to be anxious. Will I get married, have children, be successful in a career or in life?
Although few of us know the answer to that question from a young age, the truth is, we each have an incredible purpose, which is to know God on a deep and intimate level. God knew each one of us before we were born (Jeremiah 1:5). We were in His thoughts before He created the world.
We are part of His eternal plan. Our Creator gave us life to be lived for this humble purpose – to bring Him pleasure. That truly simplifies the uncertainties of our complex lives. Knowing we were always on His mind offers the opportunity to trust Him with everything.
Today’s One Thing
When you catch yourself worrying about things, set aside your anxiety and remember God has you on His mind today. Trust in Him to help you navigate through your troubles.
