Called Before You Knew It

God built your purpose into you before you took your first breath. And He’s been unfolding it ever since.

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.
– Jeremiah 1:5 NLT

Look back over your life and you’ll find it: God was connecting pieces of your story long before you understood who He was or what He was doing. Moments that seemed ordinary revealed purpose you couldn’t see yet. Conversations, opportunities, challenges, and even seasons of waiting take on new meaning when viewed through the lens of God’s faithfulness.

God revealed that His plans for Jeremiah existed before his birth. Before Jeremiah spoke a word, learned a skill, or understood his future, God already knew him and had prepared a calling for his life. While Jeremiah’s purpose coincided with bringing glory and honor to God, his calling evolved as he matured in his faith and leaned into God’s will.

God’s will doesn’t change. As you pursue Him, you begin to discover how He has prepared you for the callings ahead. His loving hands have shaped you from the very beginning. When you accept Christ, discover your gifts, and sense a direction for your future, know that He has been developing your calling before you were born.

God’s calling for your life began long before you became aware of it.

God invites you to rest in the assurance that your life is not accidental nor without meaning. You are significant. Your talents, experiences, relationships, and even your struggles fit into His greater plan. He builds your character through every season and prepares you for your next calling.

Pursue life in confidence, knowing that God’s calling for you is rooted in His wisdom rather than your ability. Love Him and others as you walk through life. Your story remains safely in His hands, and His calling for your life is still unfolding.

Today’s One Thing
As you offer gratitude and praise to God today, affirm, “I trust that God has been working in my life from the beginning, and I embrace His preparations for my callings.”
