Grace that Rewrites Your Story

Fear, worry, and frustration push to replay your past, especially the moments you wish you could erase. If only there was a “redo” button that could be pushed so wrongs could be made right. Better yet, God offers grace. Grace steps in to remind you that God’s calling is bigger than your failures, and His mercy is everlasting.

A third time He asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.”
– John 21:17 NLT

Fear wants to use those moments as proof that you should stay quiet, play it safe, or sit this next assignment out. But grace speaks louder, and God invites you to be restored. Only He can provide the grace that eliminates the emotional power that fear attempts to instill.

Peter knew that tension well. He carried the weight of denying Jesus three times, even after he had promised his loyalty. Those moments could have defined him. Shame could have led him to believe that his usefulness had expired. Jesus, however, met Peter on the shore, not with accusation or condemnation, but with restoration. Love led the conversation and restored purpose.

Jesus offers you the same grace. He restores your heart when He calls your name, so you can focus on Him and the purpose He gives you to pursue. With that said, Jesus does not clear your memory of what occurred, but He offers the grace to forgive yourself and others.

Grace does not erase your story; it redeems it and sends you forward with purpose.

God often uses healed places in your life to strengthen others and to help you trust Him more. Your obedience today matters more than your missteps yesterday.

Accept grace’s invitation to rise, follow, and trust again. God’s call still stands, and His mercy makes room for your next faithful step.

Today’s One Thing
Bring your past mistakes to the Lord; ask for forgiveness and strength to pursue His purpose. Accept His forgiveness and affirm, “I am forgiven of my past sins, and I accept God’s grace.”
