Keeping Christ Your Primary Focus

Have you ever found yourself feeling overwhelmed by the complexities of life? The world constantly bombards you with information, options and opinions. Perhaps you’ve been told that you need to do more, achieve more and be more to be successful and happy.

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

– Matthew 17:20 ESV

Life’s most influential and transformative messages are often found in the simplest things. God’s Word teaches that His ways are not “your ways” (Isaiah 55:8), and His wisdom often goes against the conventional ways of the world. As you know, the world is complex, especially with all the things that can distract you from keeping Christ as the primary focus.

Christ explains in Matthew 17:20 that it’s not about the size of your faith or accomplishments; it’s about trusting God and relying on His supreme authority to do great things in and through you. Remember, it’s not about you but your focus on Him.

Giving your focus and praise to the Lord can often dampen or eliminate the complexities of life.

God’s ways are often different than the ways of the world. When you rely on Him, you don’t need to have all the answers or do everything perfectly to experience His love and grace. As you surrender to His will and trust Him, He can do great things through you. Relying upon Him in faith eliminates worldly options that make life complex.

Let go of the pressure to do more and achieve more. Simply trust and rely on the Lord, and He will give you answers to complex problems as you believe in Him.

Today’s One Thing

Give God your praise for at least seven things He has protected you from. Praise Him for the clarity He gives you as you focus on Him.
