Know Your Security
Many variables play daily with our assurance and confidence when we get off-track from remembering God created us and we are on His team. He is our advocate and guide. One would think knowing which team you’re on would provide all the assurance and confidence needed to take on daily work, community tasks and home objectives with happiness and vigor.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
─ Matthew 7:11 ESV
God does not want us to suffer from the feeling of inadequacy. The inadequacy that rolls around in your mind can be a powerful weapon against you. This weapon can distract you from the objectives, goals and blessings the Lord has given you. Often, these thoughts of inadequacy are not true, and they are the cause of you having a conversation with yourself, being lured away from God’s Word, not forgiving yourself for past mistakes and not substituting the inadequacy with God-given competence.
God is your advocate and guide. You are on His team, and He wants the best for you.
Christ came so believers may have life abundantly, including having an abundance of joy, happiness and contentment, without any worry. When you spend time mentally grappling with issues between you and yourself, as though a little white angel is on one shoulder and a small red devil is on the other shoulder whispering in your ear, it distracts you from the Lord’s goodness. God desires for you to have wise decision-making, but He does not want you grappling with items unnecessarily.
God is the One who created you, and He sustains you. God gave His Son, Jesus Christ for you. You have a future and hope in Him. Trust Him and ask Him to give you peace and assurance in how to feel toward yourself, and for the weapon of inadequacy to transform into a focus on who God says you are in Him.
Today’s One Thing
Read Colossians 3:2-3 and ask the Lord to wrap up any feelings of inadequacy, throw them far away from your mind and grant you peace in Him. You are a winner. He is your security.
