Making Room for the King
There’s something beautifully expectant about the Christmas season. Beneath the celebration is a special invitation to pause, prepare and make room for the King.
She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
– Luke 2:7 NLT
When Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem, the town overflowed with people. Every room was spoken for. Still, God’s plan unfolded in a humble stable.
That same Savior seeks a place in your heart today, even when outside sources are attempting to occupy your available space. Making room for Him is about quieting the noise and opening space for His presence.
When you make room for Jesus, He fills what seems empty, calms what feels restless, and occupies what you give Him.
Look at your routines, your conversations, and the plans that fill your time. Where could you open a little space for Jesus? The King, who once laid in a manger, simply asks for your attention. When you invite Him into your ordinary moments, He fills them with extraordinary grace.
This Christmas, let your heart be like that Bethlehem stable—simple, open, and prepared for the King. When you make room for Jesus, you realize that His presence changes ordinary days into peaceful surroundings. He fills what seems empty, calms what feels restless, and occupies what you give Him.
Today’s One Thing
Worship the Lord and declare, “I open my heart to Jesus. I silence the distractions and noise by allowing His presence to fill my life.”
