Maturity Takes Time
What affirmative words or phrases would you use to describe a student’s maturity from kindergarten to adulthood? Consider words like learning, stretching, and experiencing in your description. Spiritual maturity forms the same way—slowly, steadily, and beautifully as Jesus lovingly shapes you from the inside out. The process takes time, and Jesus never rushes His work in you. And His faithfulness holds you steady when you feel unsure of your progress.
If we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.
– 2 Timothy 2:13 ESV
You stand before God today as someone deeply loved. Jesus is developing your faith with tenderness. He isn’t put off by your questions or your need for His strength. He knows your maturity, and He loves you more than you can imagine. His heart stays faithful even when yours feels pulled in many directions. Christ gave you the Holy Spirit to guide you day by day, forming spiritual maturity through moments that seem ordinary but hold eternal weight.
Jesus grows you with patience, one grace-filled step at a time.
Because of what Christ has done for you, your reliance on Him can grow when you:
Choose forgiveness and trust Him with what you cannot fix.
Turn to prayer instead of panic.
Open the Bible and let His truth silence the lies of the world.
Take steady steps of obedience, even when life feels uncertain.
Jesus celebrates your progress, because He sees the fullness of who you’re becoming. Your maturity rests on His unchanging promise to complete the work He started in you.
You can trust your Savior with your development. You are growing, stretching, and becoming someone who reflects the heart of Christ more each day. You are held by a faithful God who is constant and delights in your progress.
Today’s One Thing
Declare, “Jesus loves me, and I am growing in Christlikeness daily because of the Holy Spirit’s guidance.”
