One Open Door at a Time

Margaret’s granddaughters flipped on the radio during a school drop-off. She had no idea God was about to change her life—and that she’d spend years praying the same would happen for the rest of her family.

He was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.
Acts 16:34 NIV

In Acts 16, a jailer in Philippi wakes up to an earthquake, cell doors swing open, and a decision that could cost him his life. Instead, Paul stops him. The two talk. And by morning, the jailer believes, and his whole household believes with him.

Margaret’s turning point began with her granddaughters in the back seat of her car, switching the radio to Family Life Radio. The shift in her was real. She gave her life to Jesus, and four years later she’s still following Him—praying now that the same joy will reach the rest of her family, the way it reached the jailer’s.

That’s what joy in Christ tends to do—it moves from one person to the next, one open door at a time.

The same joy that changed you is still reaching for the people you love.

Margaret now serves as a team leader at a senior center in Arizona, showing up for people the way Jesus showed up for her—present, patient, and full of grace.

And she keeps praying for her own household that hasn’t all come to know Jesus yet. She keeps asking, keeps trusting, keeps believing that the same God who met her in a car on a Tuesday morning can meet the people she loves most.

Think of your own household—the people who ride in your car, sit at your table, share your last name. Your joy in Christ is meant to reach them too.

Today’s One Thing
Pray by name for one person in your household today and ask God to let your joy in Him become visible to them.
