Open the Word, Find His Heart
When life feels uncertain or your soul feels dry, you don’t need more noise or opinions—you need a steady voice you can trust. And that voice is found in the pages of God’s Word.
Your face, Lord, do I seek. Teach me your way, O Lord.
—Psalm 27:8,11 ESV
You can scroll for hours and still feel empty. You can search for answers and come up short. But when you open the Bible, you step into the presence of the One who knows you, sees you, and speaks directly to your heart.
David’s cry in Psalm 27 is so honest: “Your face, Lord, do I seek. Teach me Your way.” He was chasing intimacy. He longed to know God’s ways so he could walk in them. That’s the heartbeat of spending time in scripture—getting to know God’s heart.
Every time you open the Word, you’re tuning your ear to His voice. You’re aligning your life with His truth. And slowly, almost without realizing it, your thoughts start to shift, your peace deepens, and your decisions begin to reflect the One you’re walking with.
When you open your Bible, you accept an invitation into relationship.
Some days it might feel dry. Other days, a verse might jump off the page and hit right where it hurts—or heals. Either way, when you keep showing up in the Word, you’re drawing closer to the heart of God.
You’re learning how He thinks. How He loves. How He leads. And the more time you spend with Him in scripture, the more clearly you’ll recognize His voice in your everyday life.
God’s Word is living, active, and deeply personal. Open the Bible today to know Him more. He’s ready to meet you there.
Today’s One Thing
Before opening your Bible today, pause and pray: “Lord, I’m not just here for words—I want to hear from You.” Then read slowly and listen with your heart.
