Peace at All Times
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
─ Philippians 4:7
Freda heard her phone beep just as she pulled into the garage late one evening after visiting friends and running errands. She picked up her phone to read a text from her friend Kristin, a young mother with two toddlers and an infant. Freda had spent the morning with Kristin and her babies.
thank you so much for spending the morning with us. you are a godsend. with two of them teething, I didn’t expect to get a break this afternoon, but after you left, all three went down and slept for three hours! that’s not normal. You always bring such a peace to my home. I appreciate you!
Freda smiled. She carried a gift of overflowing peace into the homes and hearts of all the families God connected her with, who would receive it.
God’s peace is unlike the world’s peace. It comes only from trusting God. Worry and anxiety steals our peace, but God’s peace is supernatural. He always has our best interest at heart. And when we’ve lost our peace of mind, as Christ followers, we have the power to regain it. We truly can have peace at all times.
Today’s One Thing
What is stealing your peace of mind today? Take those concerns to the Father today, and ask Him to help you practice peace on purpose.
