Peace for an Anxious Heart

Anxiety can be subtle. It shows up in the middle of the night, in unanswered questions, in the heaviness we can’t quite explain. Sometimes, we face inner battles that feel every bit as daunting as a giant like Goliath. Fear tells us we’re not enough, that the outcome is up to us—but God tells a different story. He offers us His peace.

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
— Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV

David’s defeat of Goliath came from a deep trust in God’s past faithfulness. In 1 Samuel 17:37, David says, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

David remembered. That’s where peace began—not in denying the challenge before him, but in recalling who God had been to him before.

Hands outstretched, God invites you to bring your anxious heart to Him.

Anxiety doesn’t always shout—it often whispers. When anxiety rises, we can remind ourselves God’s peace speaks louder, quieting fear and gently reminding us we’re never alone in the battle. He says, “Come to Me.” He is near. And His nearness is our peace.

God goes before us, stays with us, and will never leave us. That promise quiets the chaos. We don’t have to carry everything alone. In fact, we were never meant to.

So, take a breath. Whisper the truth: “God is with me.” Let that settle in your soul today. Even in the middle of anxious moments, His peace is stronger than your fear.

Today’s One Thing
Pause and take a few deep breaths. Whisper, “God is with me.” Let that truth calm your mind and steady your heart.
