Pierced with Love
Have you whispered questions in the quiet: “Do You see me, Lord? Do You know what I’m walking through?” On those days when you might feel invisible—overlooked in your own home, forgotten in a sea of responsibilities, or weary from pouring out without being refilled, remember God bears your name on his hands.
“See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.” — Isaiah 49:16 NKJV
Imagine the hands that shaped the universe, the hands that healed the sick and broke the bread—those same hands carry your name. Not scribbled in pencil, not temporary ink, but inscribed—engraved—forever.
You are not forgotten; you are written on the hands of the One who holds eternity.
Originally spoken to a people who felt forsaken, who thought God had abandoned them, today’s verse is still rich with imagery. “Your walls are continually before Me.” The one who formed you in your mother’s womb is saying, “Your life, your heart, your home—they’re always in My view.”
God’s covenant love—unchanging, intimate, and personal—is never about how you feel. When doubts creep in or when prayers seem to echo without answers, remember, God has marked you as His own.
Even in your most fragile moments, His attention hasn’t drifted. His hands, pierced with love, carry a constant reminder of you.
Today’s One Thing
Pray: Father, thank You for loving me so personally and tenderly. When I feel lost or overlooked, remind me that my name is written on Your hands. Let this truth anchor my spirit today. Help me to rest in the security of Your everlasting love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
