Proof It’s Working

Does anyone actually hear you? You give and serve quietly, wondering if any of it lands. One woman’s family just proved that it does—and that God’s word never comes back empty.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
— Isaiah 55:11 NKJV

Jennifer from Michigan wondered the same thing. She wasn’t trying to change anyone’s heart—she just kept listening to the station, day after day, letting God’s Word do its quiet work.

“I started listening to the station a year ago,” she says, “now my whole family is openly speaking about faith and Jesus.”

Conversations that once felt impossible are now happening at her own kitchen table. That’s exactly what Isaiah 55:11 promises: when God sends His word out, it doesn’t wander aimlessly or fade into the air. It accomplishes what He pleases and finishes what it was sent to do.

God’s word never returns empty—it finishes what it was sent to do.

Think about what you’ve given or done for someone this year. You made a meal, sent a card, offered a quiet word of encouragement, or gave a gift no one applauded. You may never hear how it landed. You may wonder if it landed at all.

But Isaiah’s promise isn’t only about a signal reaching a kitchen in Michigan. It’s about every word and act God sends out through you. When you give and serve in His name, you release something God Himself promised to finish.

Jennifer said, “You save lives in many ways.” That’s what happens when faithfulness keeps showing up long after the giving feels routine and unseen. Your faithfulness today could be someone’s turning point a year from now, just like it was for her family.

Today’s One Thing
Today, give or serve in one specific way without asking for proof it worked. You’re not responsible for the harvest—you’re simply the one God is sending His word through.
