Refresh Others

You know that spark you feel when you make someone’s day a little brighter? There’s something deeply satisfying about watching joy light up someone else’s face because you decided to give, serve, or be present.

The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
– Proverbs 11:25 NLT

God designed you, especially your heart, to come alive when you bless others. His Word shows again and again that when you pour yourself out to bless others, He has a way of circling back with refreshment that surprises you. It’s a promise God delights in fulfilling.

You’ve probably seen this play out firsthand. Maybe you spent the afternoon listening to a friend pour out their heart when you were already tired. You left the conversation feeling oddly uplifted, as if God had poured strength right back into you. Or perhaps you went out of your way to help someone financially, only to have God meet one of your own needs in a way that left you shaking your head in gratitude. God’s generosity always multiplies.

When you refresh others, God makes sure you won’t be left dry.

You’ve probably noticed God refreshing you countless times after you stepped out to serve someone else. It was as if God leaned in close and said, “I see how you’re caring for them — now let Me take care of you.” Moments like that anchor you, reminding you exactly who holds your life together.

When the Holy Spirit guides you to step into another’s world to lift their load, you are being obedient without expectations. He loves to show you how much your small acts matter. A cheerful word, a financial gift, a quiet prayer—these become divine appointments. And, by God’s promise, you will be refreshed.

Today’s One Thing
Announce to yourself, “I choose to refresh others through the Holy Spirit’s guidance, trusting that God will refresh me in His perfect way.”
