Returning to a Healthy Routine

Life can often feel like a whirlwind, pulling us in different directions and leaving us feeling drained. When we stray from our healthy routines—whether it’s physical exercise, proper nutrition, or spiritual practices like prayer and reading the Bible—we can quickly become weary.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

– Matthew 11:28 NIV

When Elijah fled to Mount Horeb, he was exhausted and overwhelmed. He had been through intense spiritual battles, and the weight of his mission left him feeling depleted. Yet, God knew exactly what Elijah needed to restore his strength. He provided food, water, and rest for Elijah, allowing him time to recover before sending him back to continue his mission (1 Kings 19:1-18).

Beyond physical well-being, returning to a healthy routine aligns us with God’s plan for a peaceful and whole life.

Just like Elijah needed rest and nourishment to regain his strength, we too need to return to routines that replenish our body, mind, and spirit. Getting back to a healthy routine isn’t just about physical well-being; it’s also about aligning ourselves with God’s intentions for our lives. He desires us to live in a state of peace and wholeness, able to serve Him and others with our best selves.

By prioritizing time for rest, healthy eating, exercise, and spiritual renewal, we honor the bodies and lives He has given us.
