Some One Is Praying For You

Meg and her sisters had spent the day going through a lot of their mother’s things to decide what they should do with her things after her death, unexpectedly a week ago.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers.
─ Romans 1:9 NKJV

Meg went out to her mother’s car to see what needed to be done there. She checked the glove box and began to sort between trash and important papers. Her eyes fell to a pocket New King James Bible tucked silently underneath the center dash. As she thumbed through the pages, her eyes fell to her mother’s handwritten prayers. Prayers for her, her sisters, her children and names of people she didn’t even know were gently penned along the margins of the text next to underlined Scriptures.

When you feel alone, take comfort knowing someone is praying for you.

In the verse above, Paul tells the Christians in Rome, I pray for you, always. And whether you know it or not, God has assigned someone (sometimes many “someones”) to pray for you. Each time they pray for you, they are holding you before the throne of Heaven, interceding and praying for God’s will. His will is for all things to work together in your life for your good (Romans 8:28).

The next time you have a tough day, or find yourself knee deep in a mess, remember that you are significant to God. You matter so much that He assigned others to pray for you, perhaps people who don’t even know you.

Today’s One Thing
Give God thanks for His great love and provision. Pray for those who He’s called to pray for you. Ask Him to bless them in a special way for holding you up through the difficult times in your life.
