Stay Connected

In a world that often feels overwhelming, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Hannah McClure of The McClures put it beautifully when she said, “I need to stay connected to Jesus. I need to stay connected to the people of Jesus and not isolate myself.”

Some people have given up the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.

– Hebrews 10:25 CEV

You might be feeling the weight of isolation, whether it’s from differing opinions, life circumstances, or even your own choices. It’s in these moments when you’re tempted to stand alone that you instead choose to stay connected to Jesus and His people who can be a lifeline for your soul.

Connection is vital to our emotional well-being and spiritual health.

When you’re connected, you’re plugged into a Source of strength, wisdom, and love that goes beyond anything this world can offer. You’re part of a body, a family, that lifts you up when you’re down, that prays for you when you’re struggling, and that celebrates with you in your victories.

So, how do you stay connected in a world that often seems designed to pull you apart? Start by making time for Jesus:

  1. Contemplate His Word.
  2. Spend time in prayer.
  3. Listen for His voice.
  4. Extend that connection to others.

You’re an active participant in this journey of faith (see James 1:22-25). Your presence matters, not just to Jesus but to the people around you. So, take Hannah’s advice to heart: stay connected to Jesus and His people. God desires you to fit into the space in the body of Christ that only you can fill.

Today’s One Thing

Pray: “Lord Jesus, thank You for being my constant source of strength and love. I confess that I’ve allowed the world, my circumstances, and even my own choices to isolate me from You and from others. I choose today to stay connected, to draw near to You, and to Your people. Help me to be a source of encouragement and love, just as I have received from You. Amen.”
