Sweet Surrender

Peace encompasses your soul when you trust the One who controls all things. He holds the wind, the waves, and every detail of your life—relationships, occupation, growth, finances, and all other matters.

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
— Mark 4:39 ESV

A steady calm can rise within you even when life feels loud and chaotic. Peace and calmness occur when your focus shifts from your circumstances to Who holds you. Jesus once stood in a storm-tossed boat, surrounded by anxious disciples, and spoke with authority that silenced both wind and waves. In that moment, He revealed something powerful—storms occur, and uncertainty happens, but when the One is near you, He rules over them.

When stress increases, pause and take a deep breath. Quietly pray, “Jesus, I trust You are here and surrender to your will.” Let this simple prayer help you shift your attention from the storm to the One who is always steady. Even a brief, intentional focus on God’s presence can anchor your heart in peace.

God holds every moment of your life with purpose and care. Jesus demonstrates that authority through His power over all things. Nothing falls outside His reach and His authority. The Holy Spirit works within you, calming your thoughts and guiding your heart toward trust when fear tries to take over. You are not left alone to navigate the storms of life.

As you surrender control and follow the Holy Spirit’s to lead, you will find His peace.

Peace is restored and rest returns when you let go of the need to manage everything yourself and trust the Lord. Each time you choose to believe that God is present and faithful, the Holy Spirit provides room for you to be calm and breathe. Your situation may not change instantly, yet your focus on Him changes everything.

The same person and voice that calmed the storm still speaks peace into your life today.

Today’s One Thing
Pause today and intentionally release all your concerns to God, trusting Him with the outcome. Tell yourself, “I surrender to God’s will for my life, and His presence fills me with peace.”
