The Gift of Time
Time is one of God’s most precious gifts to you. Each day offers you a new opportunity—a blank page to fill. How often do you stop to thank God for giving you these moments? Time can feel abundant and fleeting, but within it lies the chance to draw closer to God, gain wisdom, and live with purpose.
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
– Psalm 90:12 ESV
Life’s daily demands can easily overwhelm you, leaving little room to pause and reflect. Yet, in the midst of the busyness, God invites you to slow down and seek His wisdom. Right now, take 10 seconds and pause, breathe deep, reflect, and seek wisdom and guidance from God. It’s the perfect way for you to experience His presence and learn from Him. Your life is a part of His grand design, and He wants you to use your time wisely. Accomplishing your tasks with Him and His guidance is always better.
Being thankful for the gift of time means recognizing that God has given you each day with purpose. It is easy to overlook the minutes as they slip away but numbering your days means being intentional with them.
- How are you using your time to grow in your relationship with God?
- How are you investing in others, yourself, and in the work God has called you to do?
Time is a gift from God.
Psalm 90:12 urges you to be aware of the brevity of life and to use your time wisely and cherish it. When you seek God’s wisdom, He gives you the insight to use your time well through prayer, serving others, or simply resting in His presence. So, instead of striving to make every second count in a task-focused manner, seek Him, and follow His lead.
Take a moment to thank God for the time He has given you. Ask Him to help you use it wisely and with a grateful heart. Your days are a gift, and with His guidance, you can live each day in a way that honors Him.
