The Place Where You Stand
God’s presence changes everything. He meets you in ordinary places and turns them into personal encounters. When you give Him your full attention, even familiar places become holy invitations.
“Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”
– Exodus 3:5 NKJV
Moses stepped into that day much like any other—caring for the sheep, moving through familiar terrain, focused on his task. But God had something specific prepared. Right there in the wilderness, He drew Moses in with a flame that didn’t burn out and a voice that called his name.
God transformed an ordinary stretch of land into a divine meeting place. His presence turned that desert moment into something eternal. When God speaks, wherever you are becomes a place of invitation. He draws near, and the ground beneath your feet takes on eternal weight.
Holy ground is anywhere God meets you—and opens your eyes to His presence in the middle of your ordinary.
Sometimes we think we have to be in a temple or a mountaintop to encounter God. But He loves to meet us in the everyday—in kitchens, cars, quiet rooms, and crowded places.
Every precious moment with Him begins when you recognize His nearness. When your spirit senses Him close—through a Scripture that stirs something deep, a moment of stillness in prayer, or a word of encouragement at just the right time—you’re standing on holy ground.
What transforms the moment is your awareness of God’s presence. When He speaks, everything ordinary becomes an invitation to pause, listen, and receive.
God still speaks in ways that invite you to take off your sandals—to slow down, to listen, to honor the moment. Like Moses, you’re not just witnessing something remarkable. You’re being called into something deeper.
God stands close, right where you are. And the place you stand—no matter how ordinary it seems—can become holy ground the moment your heart becomes aware of Him.
Today’s One Thing
Ask God to heighten your awareness of His presence today. When you sense Him near, pause. Let that moment become a holy space between you and the One who calls you by name.
