Wells of Gratitude
“Perspective is key,” Adam Stark from Apollo LTD reminds us. It’s such a simple truth, but one that carries insightful implications for our walk with God. In a world bustling with technological marvels, it’s easy to overlook the blessings that are as basic as water flowing from a tap. Yet, Adam’s mission work in Haiti and Kenya, where water is a miles-long trek away, offers a humbling comparison.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
– James 1:17 NKJV
Today’s verse is an invitation to see life through a lens of constant gratitude, recognizing that the God who placed the stars in the sky cares intimately about the details of your life.
In moments of scarcity, when the well seems dry, remember that the same God who provided manna in the wilderness is providing for you. Your circumstances might be challenging, but they are not beyond His care or His capacity to bring you through.
Choose the perspective of gratitude to see life from today.
You might not have to walk miles for water, but you have your own treks, your own challenges. It’s in these walks, literal or figurative, that perspective becomes the wellspring of a thankful heart. When you see your life in the light of all God has provided for you, gratitude can flow from recognizing His provision that you may have taken for granted at times.
Choose gratitude. Drink deeply from the well of God’s provision and care. Look for the signature of His presence. And then open your eyes to the needs around you, that you might be a vessel of His blessings to others.
Today’s One Thing
Let this be your confession today: My gratitude is a reflection of God’s goodness. I am blessed, I am cared for, and I am profoundly thankful for every perfect gift from above.
