Wisdom Walking
You hold the valuable opportunity to walk in wisdom. Naturally, you don’t have to look far to see how quickly time slips through your fingers. Whether it’s raising kids, managing a business, caring for aging parents, or figuring out what’s next, you can walk in wisdom.
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
– Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV
God gave you the Holy Spirit to guide you, scripture to instruct you, and the example of Jesus to show you how to live with purpose. Walking in wisdom doesn’t mean having all the answers—it means staying close to the One who does. Wisdom begins with a heart tuned to God, a willingness to pause and ask, “Lord, what honors You in this decision?”
With this question, you are communicating that you want to live with your eyes open for God’s guidance. God has guided you through other difficult experiences so that you could glean wisdom and insight as you navigated your situation with His help. He continues to provide direction in the present, especially when you seek His will. When you choose Him for guidance and make the best use of your time, you are choosing wisdom.
Seek God daily for His wisdom and guidance.
God invites you to walk carefully—aware, present, and purposeful. When you seek Him, you can make the best use of your time. And when you walk in step with His Spirit, you begin to see your time as a gift rather than a burden.
So, don’t rush past your season or wish it away. Your season and the situations you face serve a purpose. Ask God for wisdom for the next conversation, for any upcoming commitments, and for any hard decisions you’ll face. He promises to give wisdom generously to those who ask in faith (James 1:5). And when you walk in His wisdom, your steps begin to reflect something deeper than efficiency: they reflect trust.
Today’s One Thing
Thank God for your situations, and declare, “I choose to walk in wisdom, to make the best use of my time, and to trust God’s guidance.”
