Your Strengths Are Not Accidental
The things you do well—the way you encourage others, organize chaos, bring clarity in confusion, or lift someone’s spirit with a smile—aren’t random. God shaped you with purpose and intention. He placed within you specific gifts and inclinations, not just to make life easier for you but to bless others and glorify Him.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy… if service… if teaching… if exhorting… if giving, with generosity… if leading, with zeal… if showing mercy, with cheerfulness.– Romans 12:6-8 ESV, abridged
God knows your wiring. Whether you’re a problem solver, a faithful helper, a quiet intercessor, or a passionate leader, He delights in using what He placed inside you. You don’t need to chase after someone else’s ability to feel worthy—you already carry divine purpose.
You might downplay what comes naturally to you by thinking, It’s not a big deal. But it is. The ability to listen without judgment, to remain calm under pressure, to rally a team, and to serve without needing recognition—those are holy strengths. In a broken world, people need individuals who embody their strengths with humility and love.
Your strengths are purposefully part of God’s plan.
When you embrace your strengths and offer them back to God, they multiply. The encouragement you give to one person may ripple into a dozen hearts. The way you teach, lead, serve, give, or show mercy carries eternal value. You are part of the body of Christ, and your gifts matter.
Ask the Holy Spirit to make you aware of what you do well and stir a desire in you to use it for His glory. God chose you to function faithfully in the gifts He gave you. Your faithfulness pleases the Father.
Today’s One Thing
Give thanks to God, and affirm, “God created me with unique strengths, and He delights when I use them faithfully to serve others and glorify Him. I will no longer downplay what He has placed in me.”
