Equally Yoked Christian Speed Dating & Optional Pickleball (24-38)

Meet fellow single Christians in-person for brief conversations to decide whether to match and continue mingling with some pickleball after!

Equally Yoked is a Metro Detroit-based group seeking to create spaces for practicing Christians who are single in southeast Michigan to meet and connect in-person as well as foster relationships in accordance with 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Looking to meet other professing single believers who love Jesus in-person? Wish church had a place for singles? Sick of dating apps? Want to skip the awkwardness of approaching a stranger at random? Looking for intentionality and investment?

Equally Yoked Christian Speed Dating is your answer! Speed dating entails a series of brief back-to-back conversations to decide with whom to march. Contact information (email address and/or phone number — your choice!) will be shared when two people both agree to match.

Participants do not have to be from a particular denomination or church, but should be involved in and regularly attending a church.

Event includes:

Up to 14 one-on-one six-minute conversations with mebers of the opposite sex between the ages of about 24-38 (because 2 Corinthians 6:14!)
Same-day match results
Introductory activity with the chance to win a Northville Pickleball Club gift card
Afterparty pickleball court time until 6:30 p.m.
Event earnings support the creation of a 501c3 nonprofit for Equally Yoked to continue hosting events like this one for Christian singles in southeast Michigan!
You are not required to play pickleball. If you want to play pickleball, you are not required to have experience, and equipment can be provided. All levels welcome!

But you can get ready with us by joining our Christian Singles Pickleball Tuesday events through the rest of August!

Parking is available on-site at no cost. Northville Pickleball Club is on the campus of Ward Church.

How It Works

You’ll check in with a legal photo ID and enter into an introductory activity that helps conversations get flowing. Plus, it’s a chance to win a gift card!

Participants will be assigned a table at which to start. A clipboard will provide basic information on each participant and space for notes and compliments. After instructions and prayer, the men will rotate from table to table to speak with each of the women for six minutes per conversation. We provide some suggested questions to help, if needed.

Afterward, participants mark yes or no on whether to match with each person with whom they spoke. If both people say yes to each other, they are a match and will receive each other’s contact information in an email later that evening.

Everyone will receive an email, regardless of whether they have matched with someone or not. A majority of partcipants in previous speed dating events received at least one match.
