During his Navy career he commanded the Guided Missile Destroyer USS Cochrane\, the US Naval Station in Pearl Harbor\, the USS New Jersey\, and Task Force 73 and Logistics Group 7th Fleet in Singapore. He also is a distinguished graduate of the US Naval War College.\nIn retirement\, Tucker led the project to build the Veterans Memorial at Anthem\, Ariz.
