DESCRIPTION:North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is celebrating the milestone of a new school year with a blessing and mission project. NSUMC will be offering blessings on students\, educators\, their mobile devices and backpacks during their worship service on Sunday\, Aug. 13th @ 10:00 AM! The Back-to-School Supply Drive will include collecting school supplies for children that will be donated to the Vista del Camino Community Center in south Scottsdale. This event is free and open to the public. \nFREE backpack tags will be handed out to all students in attendance on Sunday\, Aug. 13th @ 10:00 AM. The backpack tag is constant reminder that God is with the students in their daily life and that their church family will be praying for them throughout the year. \nDon’t have any students at home? All are invited to be a blessing to other less fortunate children by donating backpacks and school supplies. The gifts will be blessed and distributed to Vista del Camino Community Center to help families that need extra support at the beginning of the school year. Vista del Camino is a recreational facility in south Scottsdale that offers after-school care\, clothing\, food and financial support to less fortunate children. Julia Bautista\, Director of Special Programs @ VdCCC stated\, “We look forward to the NSUMC Back-to-School Supply drive. While the city of Scottsdale had huge success helping over 800 students in July\, we still have requests to fill.” \nNorth Scottsdale United Methodist Church celebrates the love of God through Christ by offering a 10AM ONLINE and in-person service on Sunday. Sunday school is available in-person and online @ www.nsumckids.info. They have children and youth activities including; children’s choir\, volleyball\, mission trips\, small groups\, festivals and youth groups. DESCRIPTION:Back-to-school preparations will be a little easier for area families this year thanks to an upcoming Community Care Day at Trinity Lutheran Church.\nCo-hosted with Redeemer Lutheran Church\, the free event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday\, August 19 at Trinity\, 122 W. Wesley St.\, downtown Jackson.\nKicking off Community Care Day will be a pancake breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Afterward\, volunteers will be on hand to distribute school supplies\, hygiene kits\, and socks and underwear. Complimentary haircuts will also be available\, as well as a variety of children’s activities.\nTrinity and Redeemer have a long history of giving back to the Jackson-area community.
