This year’s theme is the resurrection of Jesus. ScriptureFest will take place on Saturday April 6 from 11:30-5:00 at Bethel Community Baptist Church located at 446 S. Plumer Ave\, Tucson\, AZ 85719. This is a completely free event.\nWhat is ScriptureFest? ScriptureFest is a scripture memorization recital event. How it works is the organizer selects a book of the Bible or a theme (The resurrection of Jesus). Then individual memorizers\, families\, or groups sign up for a passage or group of passages at https://arizonascripturefest.godaddysites.com . On the day of the event everyone who is registered will gather at Bethel Community Baptist Church for fellowship and edification as each one recites the passage they signed up for. The collection of spoken scripture is a delight for the memorizers and the listeners.We have a variety of passages to sign up for based on the resurrection of Jesus. We encourage everyone to come out to the event on Sunday\, April 7\, to view the cars\, speak with drivers\, and send them off on the Rally.” \nThe public and fans of all ages can view the cars participating in the Copperstate 1000 before they depart for their journey at the Copperstate send-off event. It will take place at Tempe Diablo Stadium\, located at 2200 W. Alameda Drive in Tempe\, on Sunday\, April 7 beginning at 7:30 a.m. where the vehicles are lined up around the outfield and announced as they begin to depart at 9:30 a.m. \nThere will also be a local car show in the West lot of the stadium from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Local car enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their cars for display in the West lot. Coffee and donuts will also be available for purchase in the West parking lot. \nEvery year\, a new route traverses 1\,000 miles of beautiful desert terrain\, river verdant valley\, and alpine landscape across Arizona and beyond. Approximately 80 vintage automobiles participate\, with drivers and co-drivers from the United States\, Canada\, Mexico\, and Europe. The connections created at these rallies often blossom into lifetime friendships\, and many attendees come back year after year. \nThe coming out party each spring for cars suffering from Restless Stable Syndrome over the winter is a site to behold on the beautiful scenic roads of Arizona. This year the Copperstate 1000 has the most impressive selection of European cars. Participation includes 18 Porsches\, 14 Ferrari’s\, 10 Jaguars and a very special 1957 Maserati 250S. The oddest car is a 1938 Czechoslovakian Tatra T97. Missouri Ave.\, Phoenix \nWhy: Join notMYkid for an evening of food\, entertainment and inspiring stories illustrating the importance of protecting the mental health and well-being of today’s youth. \nGuests can mingle and enjoy dinner to the tunes of Rock Lobster as the band covers an array of popular 80’s retro music. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to take part in the live auction\, in order to support the programs that educate and inspire kids while helping them grow. \nThis year’s event is co-chaired by notMYkid board member Kelley Carter and Women’s Auxiliary Member Jade Izzett.
