I Gave My Life to Jesus
How Holy Water Transforms Lives
Worship music uniquely connects us with God, speaking to the deepest parts of our souls when words alone fall short. For We the Kingdom, their song “Holy Water” has not only inspired worship—it has transformed lives. Through heartfelt testimony and personal experiences, We the Kingdom continues to create music that points people back to the healing power of God.
The Power of Testimony in Music
We the Kingdom, comprised of family members Scott, Martin, and Ed Cash, along with Andrew Bergthold, has shared a myriad of stories of how their music has impacted listeners. One of their most memorable testimonies came through their hit song “Holy Water”—which has become an anthem of grace and redemption for many.
Scott shared a story with us from one of their early tours about a fan driving down the highway in her Mini Cooper when “Holy Water” came on the radio. In a spontaneous moment, she cranked up the volume so loud that it blew out her car speakers—but that wasn’t the only change that happened.
“She said she gave her life to Jesus right there in the car,” Scott recalled. “And now her car’s in the shop, but she’s been forever changed.”
Worship music has a way of breaking through the ordinary, leading people back to His grace.
Music That Points to Grace
“Holy Water” speaks powerfully to the message of grace. The lyrics highlight forgiveness and freedom, themes that resonate deeply with anyone who has walked through seasons of doubt or struggle. It’s more than experiencing God’s grace—it’s about being transformed by it.
For Scott, hearing stories like that confirms why they create music: to glorify God and lead people to Him. Whether through a concert, an album, or a spontaneous moment in someone’s car, their music continues to echo the message of God’s unending love and mercy.
“We hear so many stories of how these songs have impacted people’s lives,” Scott said. “It’s incredibly humbling, and it reminds us of why we do this.”
Stories Reflect God’s Work
In the Christian faith, personal testimony is a powerful way of witnessing to the work of God in our lives. The Bible speaks about the importance of sharing our testimonies, as they encourage others and point them to Jesus.
“There’s a verse in revelation,” Andrew mentioned. “We overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony. And so for me, I can’t help but share about the things that God’s doing in my life—the hard things that I’ve walked through—and the beautiful things that he’s doing.”
The stories that come from the band’s music often feel like modern-day testimonies— moments where the Holy Spirit is working through songs like “Holy Water” to bring people into a deeper relationship with Christ. This is why music matters.
Worship music isn’t just entertainment; it’s a form of ministry.
Worship as a Healing Experience
We the Kingdom’s music is deeply rooted in the healing power of worship. For the band, their music reflects their own encounters with God’s grace. Each member brings their own journey of faith, struggles, and triumphs into the songs they write.
“Worship is such a powerful way to connect with God,” Scott stated. “It has the ability to heal, restore, and remind us of God’s presence in our lives.”
As listeners engage with songs like “Holy Water,” they are reminded that no matter where they are in their spiritual journey, God’s grace is available, and transformation is possible, even in the most unexpected places, like the inside of a Mini Cooper.
The power of worship music lies in its ability to bring us back to the truth of God’s grace and the healing that comes from knowing Him.
