Jesus is the Main Thing
Meredith Andrews reflects on where she believes the church is today
Although Meredith Andrews, singer, song writer and worship leader, hoped Jesus would come and pour himself out on the church months ago, she is good to wait for tomorrow.
With all the crazy things going on in the world today, Meredith is sensing that each person has to get serious and prepare the way God has asked you to.
These things will help:
- Read the Bible
- Read the book of Daniel
- Read Revelation
- Roll up the rapture rug, because there is still work to do
Meredith believes the church is entering the beginning of the end times and there is a huge assignment for the church. She believes there will be a cleaning of house and that the days of “rock and roll celebrity culture” are coming to an end.
“Jesus is the only famous one,” commented Meredith, “And following people will only get us in a bind because people are still just people. They are human.
“We are entering into a season of coming back to the main thing. There needs to be a repentance of the church and what we’ve made it. There is a great awakening coming and it will begin with the church.”
Meredith is committed to praying for that. She believes the denominational and doctrinal issues that have so divided the church are not going to be important.
Jesus is at the center of it all. The Spirit of God will move like only He can and show up because He has heard the cries of his people. He has heard the cry for justice and for mercy. He longs to be gracious, show himself and pour himself out.
“You have to pray with expectation,” explained Meredith. “Posture your heart in such a way that you are not living in fear, but in faith. Ask God to awaken His bride and awaken the world to who He is.”
As Meredith reflected on what is happening in Afghanistan, her heart breaks, but she has also heard stories of the church there not doubling or tripling, but growing seven-fold since the U.S. pulled out. Devastatingly, there is a good chance many of those people might not be alive for much longer, but persecution grows the church.
“We in America have not experienced anything near persecution,” said Meredith. “But that time may come. We have to prepare our hearts and be willing to lay everything down for the sake of the gospel, for the sake of someone else coming to know the Lord.”
This is a wakeup call. Brothers and sisters in Christ who live across the ocean will spend eternity with you. Pray for their kind of faith.
“Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, ‘Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.’ But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls (Hebrews 10:35-39 ESV).”
Endure until the end. Watch expectantly for his outpouring. Be found faithful.
