DESCRIPTION:Wish church had a place for singles? Looking to meet other local\, professing single believers in person? Sick of dating apps? Want to skip the awkwardness of approaching a stranger at random? Looking for intentionality and investment? \nEqually Yoked Christian Speed Dating is your answer! Speed dating entails a series of brief back-to-back conversations to decide with whom to march. Contact information (email address) will be shared when two people both agree to match. Participants do not have to be from a particular denomination or church\, but should be involved in and regularly attending a church. Registration is required on Eventbrite. No walk-ins welcome. \nNEW for this event is we are embracing Michigan’s summer weather and doing outdoor walk-and-talk speed dating at local park in Wyandotte. Please note the location listed in this event is the town hall and is NOT where we’ll be meeting. You will receive the park location after registering. \nParticipants will be able to roam the green space and walk along the beautiful Detroit riverfront for the duration of each of their six-minute conversations. There also is plenty of bench space. A smartphone will be required for participation. \nIn the event of rain or inclement weather\, we will reschedule for Saturday\, August 8. DESCRIPTION:Pack a picnic lunch and join other Christian singles for a day at the lake! \nEqually Yoked is a Metro Detroit-based group seeking to create spaces for practicing Christians who are single in southeast Michigan to meet and connect in-person as well as foster relationships in accordance with 2 Corinthians 4:16. \nJoin other Christian singles for some fun in the sun with the Son (aka Jesus)! We are going to have a day at the beach on Saturday\, July 11 at a lake in Brighton from noon to 3 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch and your swimsuit\, and let’s have a fun afternoon of fellowship. \nYou will receive via email the exact location of the park in Brighton where the event is being held one week before the event. A Michigan State Recreation Pass is required for entrance of the location. You may have purchased the pass when you registered your car with the state\, or you can purchase one for $16. \nOtherwise\, there is not a direct cost to participate\, but we do ask attendees each donate a single unopened bottle of water for the Baldwin Center\, a Christian-founded nonprofit in Pontiac that runs a soup kitchen/food distribution center. You will check-in with the event host with a legal photo I.D. \nParticipation in this fellowship event is not limited to a specific age range. You are not required to be a member of a particular church or denomination\, though we ask attendees are a part of a church to be plugged into a faith community.

You’ll get the location details after you register. \nThe park has available courts for pickleball\, volleyball\, and basketball as well as soccer fields and a disc golf course. We’ll also have cornhole. \nThere is no direct cost to sign-up\, but we ask attendees to donate a new baseball or other sports equipment from this list for Leveling the Playing Field\, a nonprofit that supports access to youth sports in southeast Michigan. \nParticipation in this fellowship event is not limited to a specific age range. SUMMARY:Equally Yoked Christian Speed Dating - Livonia
DESCRIPTION:Equally Yoked Christian Speed Dating and Singles Events is gathering Christian singles who desire Christ-centered relationships in accordance with 2 Corinthians 6:14 for an afternoon of conversation and connection. Two groups of singles ages 21-35 and 30-45 will have the opportunity to engage in up to 14 six-minute one-on-one conversations between a man and woman. Afterward\, participants will mark with whom they would like to match. Emails will be sent later that evening sharing the email address of the other person\, if both people agreed to match. The event will support the mission of Mount Hope Congregational Church in Livonia\, where the event will be held. It also will feature an icebreaker as people get checked in\, and the church’s pastor will do an invocation following instructions. We would invite Family Life Radio to share about its ministry and local involvement to our participants\, who are a young\, faith-engaged and desirable demographic to appeal to. \nWe previously hosted a similar event at DownRiver Church in Taylor in January\, raising more than $670 for the church’s emergency food pantry and a majority of participants made at least one match through the speed dating. We also hosted a Christian Singles Valentine’s Day Brunch that brought together a group of singles to break bread together\, for fellowship\, and who made valentine cards for seniors at the American House Assisted Living Center in Dearborn Heights. We also are holding a game night in Ferndale on March 14 and collecting packs of diapers for the Care Net Emergency Pregnancy Center in Detroit. \nChristian singles often feel disenfranchised in the church because of a lack of resources available to meet the needs of their life circumstances. Often discouraged by online dating\, many are looking for ways to meet other single believers in-person who want to build the kingdom of God\, but struggle to find those opportunities\, don’t see many other singles in their own churches\, and are hesitant to approach strangers “in the wild\,” given how varied beliefs and values are in today’s culture. We are seeking to help bridge the gap by creating spaces that allow for real community and connection among people in similar life circumstances who’s faith is rooted in Christ. \nI personally have listened to Family Life Radio since my college days in Hillsdale and am so glad I can easily tune in again in Metro Detroit. It would be an honor to have your team to share about the work you do at our April event.
