SUMMARY:Equally Yoked Christian Singles Pickleball Tuesdays - Westland
DESCRIPTION:Join other Christian singles for pickleball and fellowship this summer for the game that’s all the rage! We will play weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. from June through August. All levels are welcome! \nParticipation in this fellowship event is not limited to a specific age range. You are not required to be a member of a particular church or denomination\, though we ask attendees are a part of a church to be plugged into a faith community. \nTo start\, we’ll play at a park in western Wayne County’s Westland. You will be able to join a GroupMe app chat to receive weekly updates and notify your attendance for future pickleball Tuesday events. You need only to register once! \nThere is not a direct cost to participate\, but we do ask attendees each donate a single unopened bottle of water for the Baldwin Center\, a Christian-founded nonprofit in Pontiac that runs a soup kitchen/food distribution center. \nPaddles will NOT be provided. Please bring your own.

DESCRIPTION:Join other Christian singles at Central Detroit Christian for a festive day of volunteering to help parents shop donations for Christmas! \nPLEASE ONLY REGISTER IF YOU DEFINITELY WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND. \nEqually Yoked is a Metro Detroit-based group seeking to create spaces for practicing Christians who are single in Southeast Michigan to meet and connect in-person as well as foster relationships in accordance with 2 Corinthians 6:14. \nIt’s the most wonderful (and romantic!) time of the year! Any relationship requires putting the well-being of each other before oneself in service. So\, start a connection by serving! And what better way to usher in the birth of our humble savior? \nCentral Detroit Christian (CDC) is a non-profit\, faith-based organization with programming for children\, urban farming\, and other community development initiatives. Its largest volunteering need of the year is its annual Christmas store\, which allows parents to shop affordably for the holiday! The non-profit plans to serve more than 150 famillies and over 300 children this year. \nJoin us and other Christian singles on Saturday\, December 12 at CDC in Detroit in assisting parents walk through the store\, wrapping gifts\, and distributing food! \nRegistration has been split into two age groups — Under 40 and 40+. You are not required to be a member of a particular church or denomination to participate\, though we ask attendees are a part of a church to be plugged into a faith community. \nThe volunteer shift is from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Because the CDC will be leaning on us showing up with the number of people we say we will bring\, PLEASE ONLY REGISTER IF YOU DEFINITELY WILL BE THERE. If you plan to leave early or arrive late\, please let us know. Our contact information is below. If you are a no-show\, you will be ineligible for Equally Yoked events in 2027. \nAfter the volunteering shift\, we’ll plan to grab a late lunch at The Rectory\, a hip nearby pizza spot (though subject to change depending on registration count)! You’ll be responsible for covering the cost of anything you purchase for lunch. We’ll wrap in time for you to hit up any Christmas parties! \nRegistration on Eventbrite is required. You’ll check in with the event host with a legal photo I.D. You’ll receive a wristband to indicate your participation. Ahead of the event\, you’ll receive an email with information on how to join a GroupMe app chat for updates the day of the event. \nFestive attire is encouraged! Bring out those ugly sweaters\, santa hats\, and a jolly attitude! \nPlease note alcohol is served at The Rectory. We ask that should participants choose to drink\, they do so responsibly and do not drive under the influence. \nWe also ask that all participants demonstrate the Christian virtues of kindness\, respect\, and grace when interacting with others\, especially as we will represent Christ. \nCDC has an on-site parking lot.
