SUMMARY:Kiwanis 5K 4 the Kidz
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our inaugural 5K run/walk/virtual event! All proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Kiwanis Inclusive Playground Project.\nWe are excited to invite you to our upcoming 5K run/walk event\, ‘5K 4 the Kidz’\, which will take place on Saturday\, June 7\, 2025\, at Rowden Park in Lapeer\, MI. It is open to all ages\, abilities and fitness levels. As Kiwanians\, we aim to make a significant difference in the lives of the children in our community. Enjoy the trail at Rowden Park which takes you by the future location of our current Legacy Project – the Kiwanis Inclusive Playground – a universally accessible\, inclusive\, and nature-based recreational play space. \nThe 5K course will start near the main pavilion at Rowden Park. You will travel along the 1-mile trail around the park and continue outside the park at Pine Street through the Lapeer downtown area before reentering Rowden Park at Pine Street to complete the loop and finish near the pavilion. Parking will be available at Rowden Park and in the designated parking lots along N. Lapeer Rd (M-24). \nPre-event packet pickup and late registration will take place at Crank Cycle & Fitness\, 1985 W. Genesee Rd\, Lapeer\, MI on Friday\, June 6\, from 11am-4pm. Event day packet pickup will take place under the main pavilion at Rowden Park beginning at 7:30am on Saturday\, June 7. \nRace timing will be run by Newton Timing. Race results will be available within minutes of finishing and candid photos will be embedded in your bib number the following week. \nRegistration pricing will be $35 for adults (18 and older) and $20 for kids (17 and under). Each price will increase by $5 on the day of the event. All participants will receive a race t-shirt (if registered prior to June 5) and a finisher medal. Awards will be presented to overall and age/gender brackets in run & walk categories.
