I am 66 yrs old. I moved in with my daughter/husband/4 kids when my son-in-law deployed to N Korea for 1 year. That was 5 years ago, and I'm still with them. My struggle is: Is it time for me to leave? The kids now range in age from 17-9, so they don't really "need" me any longer. I am very discouraged, as my son-in-law has bad money skills and has driven the family into a lot of debt. The teens are discouraged because they don't have all the "things" they want or that their friends have. There is a lot of negativity in the home. If I leave I will be moving thousands of miles away and stress about the things I will miss. But I don't want to be here any longer either.

Please pray for my high school son. He has a good heart but has been through a lot. From the time he can remember we have struggled financially and not been able to give him the same things as his older brother. I have had to say no to so many things he has asked to do with friends or sports lessons or things that make kids feel like they belong. He ha truly handled it well and always appreciated what I could give and hand me downs. He so wants to fit in on a small sports team. He has been made fun of because of his clothes (which he likes), because his dad hardly works and drinks, because of the way he plays the sport etc. There was an issue this week with a teammate and my son slapped at him. The coach saw but has no idea what my son is going through with some of these boys. He won’t tell on them and eventually his temper comes out. He has said some not so nice things as well. I feel like my sons life has been to hard because of our home situation and that he doesn’t have the friendships he longs for because of us not having the funds for him to join inor being able to even afford having these kids to our home. He seems more isolated, has almost no relationship with his dad because of all he has put us through. He feels like he lives in his brother’s shadow who is a college athlete. Pray for me to know how to handle this. Pray the consequences to him will be fair and that the other kids will have appropriate consequences as well. Pray for him to find a few true friends. And pray he won’t suffer depression as I see those patterns in myself and my biggest fear is he will just give up.

Prayer request for the Keryx Prison Ministry on October 25-28, 2018

Keryx Prison Ministry is a group of volunteers from all over Michigan from all denominations. There are 40 of us from the "outside" volunteers on team for this weekend. There also will be 35 men from the "inside" team (inmates) who have been through a Keryx weekend that help us on the weekend.

There will be 48 new inmate candidates from various backgrounds (churched and un-churched, satan worshipers, Muslims, non-believers, Native Americans etc). Together we sing songs, listen to talks, eat together, learn about the love of Christ, and worship together from Thursday night through Sunday afternoon.

To watch the Holy Spirit transform these inmates from the rough-tough men that come in on Thursday and change them into the tender-hearted men that leave on Sunday is truly amazing. The transformation has nothing to do with us. It is all GOD. We get to have a front row seat to see God's glory in action.

Please pray for that this will be a transforming weekend.

My mom, whose name is Sharon, is pretty sick. She’s been in the hospital for over 2 weeks, with one of those weeks being on a breathing ventilator. She has pneumonia still in her right lung. She’s sedated mostly but when she’s not, she is extremely uncomfortable and in pain. She communicates with some facial expression and nods of her head.

The doctors have been trying to get her off of the ventilator by exercising her lungs (by trying to breathe on her own) for a couple hours each day. They said if she doesn’t do better, they’re going to have to do a permanent tracheotomy (hole in throat with tube from there to help her breathe.)

My mom appears to be losing her will and her fight to love seems to be deteriorating.

My ex husband and I have gone through a terrible divorce and custody battle. I called him out on a lot of stuff this last week, made it 100% clear I would never return, threatened him with authorities, and told him I was getting remarried. That is a lot for him to deal with in one week...although he has abused me for a long time. I am concerned about his mental health. He is in no place to die right now, so I want to ask for prayer for him that he turns to God for forgiveness and still does the right "legal" thing by turning himself into authorities to face the. natural consequences of his past decisions. I need prayer to be able to continue pursuing God's will with enduring faith. I've struggled mostly in my life with fear of rejection, a demonic fear that no-one can be trusted and that I'm not worthy of being loved by others and trusted myself. Recently I've felt that some people in my church might reject me, and that it was a mistake inquiring about joining my church's small groups because the leaders of the group will not be sympathetic toward me, loving, and that they will reject me. I pray for the strength to discern through this possible lie and the courage to plow through and join anyway, even though my fears might be proven. Lastly, I pray that whatever group I join, even if its leaders harbor secret feelings of rejecting me, they would not come to pass, that I'd be given strength to trust others again, and that every weapon forged against me will not prosper; let my joining be met with success, teaching, and personal advancement in God's calling over my life, and that others would benefit from my joining as well. A friend of mine came over to watch a movie and brought bedbugs. Now, my home is infested with them.
