DESCRIPTION:POMPEII: THE EXHIBITION finishes its North American tour at the Arizona Science Center\, located in Phoenix\, AZ. The exhibition examines the lives of residents of Pompeii before and after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24th\, 79 A.D. Over 150 artifacts on loan from the collections of the Naples National Archaeological Museum in Italy and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii will be displayed\, for a limited time. \nVisitors to the exhibition will travel back in time to 79 A.D. when Pompeii bustled as a commercial port and strategic military and trading city. In a media-rich\, object-based\, immersive experience\, they will learn how the people of Pompeii lived\, loved\, worked\, worshipped and found entertainment. \nA separate timed-entry ticket is required\, along with a general admission ticket to Arizona Science Center. DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, April 8\, Arizona Science Center is celebrating the solar eclipse with another sun-sational Viewing Party—FREE to the public. \nTo view this event safely\, the Science Center will be providing eclipse glasses to all Guests to ensure proper eye protection. We invite you to spend the morning with us to watch the Moon cross paths with the Sun\, then stay to explore the science behind this out-of-this-world natural phenomenon! \nArizona Science Center will be opening early to allow Guests to view the full event at 9:00 a.m. The partial solar eclipse begins at 10:08 a.m.\, hits its maximum at 11:20 a.m. and ends at 12:35 p.m. Phoenix will receive 64% coverage. We strongly encourage all Guests to arrive early in order not to miss the eclipse.
